Frontiers of Engineering Management 2022, Volume 9, Issue 2,   Pages 268-280 doi: 10.1007/s42524-020-0109-1

Abstract: Time does not go backward.Previous network techniques (CPM/PERT/PDM) did not support negative parameters and/or loops (potentiallyMonsieur Roy and John Fondahl implicitly introduced negative weights into network techniques to representplan), and a surprisingly flexible and handy network model can be developed that provides all the advantagesreview the theoretical possibilities and technical interpretations (and use) of negative weights in network

Abstract: Social network analysis (SNA) is among the hottest topics of current research. The traditional social network is transformed into a fuzzy network by replacing the traditional relationsFinally, the trend of fuzzy network evolution is analyzed and predicted with a fuzzy Markov chain.Experimental results demonstrate that the fuzzy network has more superiority than the traditional networkin describing the network evolution process.

Near-infrared benzodiazoles as small molecule environmentally-sensitive fluorophores

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2022, Volume 16, Issue 1,   Pages 128-135 doi: 10.1007/s11705-021-2080-8

Abstract: The development of fluorophores emitting in the near-infrared spectral window has gained increased attention given their suitable features for biological imaging. In this work, we have optimised a general and straightforward synthetic approach to prepare a small library of near-infrared-emitting C-bridged nitrobenzodiazoles using commercial precursors. C-bridged benzodiazoles have low molecular weight and neutral character as important features that are not common in most near-infrared dyes. We have investigated their fluorescence response in the presence of a wide array of 60 different biomolecules and identified compound 3i as a potential chemosensor to discriminate between Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions in aqueous media.

Joint entity–relation knowledge embedding via cost-sensitive learning Article

Sheng-kang YU, Xue-yi ZHAO, Xi LI, Zhong-fei ZHANG

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2017, Volume 18, Issue 11,   Pages 1867-1873 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1601255

Abstract: As a joint-optimization problem which simultaneously fulfills two different but correlated embedding tasks (i.e., entity embedding and relation embedding), knowledge embedding problem is solved in a joint embedding scheme. In this embedding scheme, we design a joint compatibility scoring function to quantitatively evaluate the relational facts with respect to entities and relations, and further incorporate the scoring function into the maxmargin structure learning process that explicitly learns the embedding vectors of entities and relations using the context information of the knowledge base. By optimizing the joint problem, our design is capable of effectively capturing the intrinsic topological structures in the learned embedding spaces. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our embedding scheme in characterizing the semantic correlations among different relation units, and in relation prediction for knowledge inference.

single-stranded DNA-reduced graphene oxide nanocomposites based electrochemical biosensor for highly sensitive

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2021, Volume 15, Issue 6,   Pages 1572-1582 doi: 10.1007/s11705-021-2112-4

Abstract: High density and uniform distribution of the gold nanoparticles functionalized single-stranded DNA modified reduced graphene oxide nanocomposites were obtained by non-covalent interaction. The positive gold nanoparticles prepared by phase inversion method exhibited good dimensional homogeneity and dispersibility, which could readily combine with single-stranded DNA modified reduced graphene oxide nanocomposites by electrostatic interactions. The modification of single-stranded DNA endowed the reduced graphene oxide with favorable biocompatibility and provided the preferable surface with negative charge for further assembling of gold nanoparticles to obtain gold nanoparticles/single-stranded DNA modified reduced graphene oxide nanocomposites with better conductivity, larger specific surface area, biocompatibility and electrocatalytic characteristics. The as-prepared nanocomposites were applied as substrates for the construction of cholesterol oxidase modified electrode and well realized the direct electron transfer between the enzyme and electrode. The modified gold nanoparticles could further catalyze the products of cholesterol oxidation catalyzed by cholesterol oxidase, which was beneficial to the enzyme-catalyzed reaction. The as-fabricated bioelectrode exhibited excellent electrocatalytic performance for the cholesterol with a linear range of 7.5‒280.5 μmol·L‒1, a low detection limit of 2.1 μmol·L‒1, good stability and reproducibility. Moreover, the electrochemical biosensor showed good selectivity and acceptable accuracy for the detection of cholesterol in human serum samples.
